Private Duty

Private duty care it is “unskilled care given by home care assistants. The aides are specially trained, some are certified nursing assistants (CNA).

Personal Care Services

Personal care attendants may also be known as personal care aides or personal care assistants(PCA), Direct Support Workers (DSW). These professionals help people living with physical or mental disabilities perform day-today activities and lead normal lives in their own homes. The Personal Care Aide works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs various services for the Consumer (client) necessary to maintain his/her personal needs and comforts in the Consumer’s home. Homemaker Services

A Homemaker monitors the Consumers condition by observing their physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise. The Homemaker Aide’s responsibilities may include but are not limited to assisting the Consumer by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements; preparing and serving meals and snacks and running errands. A homemaker works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and performs various services that enable the Consumer to remain in or return to their homes and helps service to strengthen the Consumers capacities in the areas of non-medical personal care and home management to keep the home and family intact during times of stress.

Companionship/Sitter Services

Companionship is primarily emotional support and socialization, provide basic housekeeping and care for the elderly or recovering patients. Clean, plan and accompany consumers to activities and social events and more.

Respite Care

Respite Care provide short term relief for primary care regarding caregivers. Care can be provided at home, in a healthcare facility, or at an adult day center.

Non-Medical Transportation

“Transportation” means a service that transports a consumer from one place to another using the Provider's vehicle and driver, and which may, or may not, include providing the consumer with assistance to safely enter and exit the vehicle.

Non-Medical Transportation means “not involving, relating to, used in, or concerned with medical care or the field of medicine: not medical.

Chore Services

“Chore service” means a service that improves, restores, or maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe living environment through the performance of tasks on the property where the consumer resides that are beyond the consumer’s capability, and the removal of hazards posing a threat to the consumer’s health and welfare.

Examples of tasks that are provided through the Chores Service are: Heavy Household Cleaning: washing walls and ceilings; washing the outside of windows, washing the inside of windows that are difficult to reach; removing, cleaning, and re0handing curtains or drapery; and , shampooing carpets or furniture.

Simple Household Maintenance: replacing light bulbs; unclogging a drain; lighting and relighting a pilot light; replacing furnace filters; pest control; disposal of garbage or recyclable materials.

Seasonal Maintenance: cleaning gutters and downspouts; removing snow or ice; trimming shrubs, cutting grass, and removing leaves; and installing existing storm windows.

Eligibility: A consumer is only eligible if no other person (e.g., a landlord) has a legal or contractual responsibility to perform the job service.

Home Minor Repair

“Home-Maintenance Service” means a service that provides critical maintenance of elements necessary to preserve the health and safety of a Consumer in the Consumer’s home. Examples of the service is the inspection of a furnace, water heater, or water pump, plumbing, and electrical maintenance; maintenance or replacement of screens or broken windowpanes; and replacement or installation of electrical fuses.

“Home-Modification Service” means a service that adapts elements of the interior or exterior of a Consumer’s residence to increase accessibility and enable the Consumer to function with greater independence in the residence. Examples of the service is the installation of a device to improve the safety of the Consumer; or a ramp to a doorway or another modification to enhance accessibility.

“Home-Repair Service” means a service that provides critical repair to elements necessary to preserve the health and safety of a consumer in the Consumer’s home. Examples of the service is the repair or installation of HVAC equipment; minor plumbing or electrical repair; repair or replacement of gutters, shingles, flashings, or other roofing materials; or repairs to eliminate holes of other hazards in flooring or stairs. ELIGIBILITY: A consumer is eligible for home-maintenance, home-modification, or home-repair service only if no other person (e.g., a landlord) has a legal or contractual responsibility to perform the job.
